Clarke Quay and Riverside Restaurants

Where to Eat in Clarke Quay and Riverside

The banks of the Singapore River have evolved over the years into bustling hubs of activity. Dining establishments have popped up on both sides of the River, taking advantage of the balmy breezes and lapping waves. Formerly part of the colonial district which played a major role in the maritime history of Singapore, Boat Quay is now a lively area where old shophouses have been converted into restaurants and bars. Opposite Boat Quay is the new Parliament House and Asian Civilisations Museum, both of which are home to trendy dining outlets. Further up the river lies Clarke Quay, another hotbed of themed restaurants, nightclubs and bars transformed from five 19th century warehouses. Opposite Clarke Quay is Riverside Point, home of Brewerkz, an American-style microbrewery.
