Mustafa Centre

Open 24 hours, the Mustafa Centre offers a unique market style shopping experience. Designer products are in abundance at low prices with everything from textiles to watches and electronics on sale. The mall is actually two department stores joined together with goods sold under the Mustafa name and streamlined by type. 

One of the main attractions is the jewellery sections where gold can be picked up inexpensively, the centre is also a great place to buy Asian inspired gifts to take back home. Accessories are brilliant buys, mostly hand made with an eclectic ethnic touch, from bags to costume jewellery that you won’t find anywhere else.

Shopping at Mustafa Centre is akin to shopping at an indoor market with narrow aisles jam packed with all manner of products. The mall is actually not unlike a department store in that there are not brand name shops but more outlets or units selling different label products all under one roof.

Famous name items are on sale usually at a much lower cost than at other malls, additionally there is a vast assortment of Indian and other Asian speciality goods including saris and food produce. You might need to visit a couple of times to explore the whole mall as there is just so much to browse through, there is also an excellent selection of cheap luggage should you need extra space for all your purchases.

The Mustafa Centre is located in the heart of Little India so you will be spoilt for choice of where to eat. In addition there is a fantastic supermarket occupying the entire second level with a huge selection of produce from across the world; it’s a good place to buy rare Indian spices and Haidrum products to take back home. There is just one restaurant within the centre – the Mustafa Café, to get to other restaurants located close by in Little India, exit through the Pharmacy or Jewellery sections on Level 1.

Mustafa Café

The Mustafa Café is on the ground floor of the mall and offers a mix of Western and Asian food. Menu items include burgers, Indian curry, biryani and Singapore style noodles. The café is open 24 hours with most meals priced quite cheaply. There is a set lunch option available and a long list of drinks including sweet Indian Tea or Coffee.

Sagar Ratna

Situated just across from Mustafa Centre, Sagar Ratna serves Southern Indian cuisine. It’s a vegetarian restaurant with set meals and individual dishes at very reasonable prices. The spicy lentil soup is one of the signature dishes at this popular casual eatery.

Delhi Restaurant

Located within walking distance at Race Course Road, Delhi Restaurant is an upmarket award-winning restaurant with a great selection of North Indian food on the menu. There are vegetarian and meat dishes to choose from and a free poppadum and mint dip served with every Kingfisher beer.

Mustafa Centre makes for a very entertaining days shopping, although it’s definitely not for the more serious bargain hunters. The variety of items on sale is endless with everything you can possible imagine crammed under one roof; you’ll know where to find the best deal by simply following the crowds.

The mall is open 24 hours so it’s a great place to visit before or after dinner in Little India. In addition to retail therapy, you can also arrange air travel, hotel reservations and exchange foreign currency at the Mustafa Centre.

The Mustafa Centre is situated right in the heart of Singapore’s Little India. Taken the North East Line on the MRT and depart at Farrer Park Station, the mall is within easy walking distance. The Mustafa Centre is the main retail hub of Little India and very easy to at the corner of Syed Alwi road and Serangoon road. Due to the narrow isles at the mall, it’s definitely worth avoiding the weekends when shopping can become quite a tight squeeze.

Always be aware of your personal belongings, pickpockets are very common at the Mustafa Centre. Car parking is available although not recommended at weekends.
